I'm finally here. The suite isn't as nice as I thought it would be, but it serves its purpose. I will only be here for a month afterall.
My roommate for tonight is a German guy named Christian. He's here to learn English. I'm here to learn how to teach it. I guess we complement each other just fine.
I've found a cool gym and went to the Whole Foods on California St. Jicama here is only 99 cents per pound. That's not a bad deal.
There's an interesting mix of people here. Of course there are the hobos on every corner. My area of town is Thai. There are a lot of Thai restaurants and there's a vegetarian one next door. Perhaps I'll try it.
The party is upstairs. All the foreign students are drinking, making out, and listening to loud music. I met a couple people from Turkey and Taiwan. I think I'm the only native here.
Tomorrow I'll have time to learn how to properly use my Nikon. I'll take a photo of my suite.

Welcome
This is Kevin and welcome to My Conspectus. Each week I will offer my opinions, insights, and analysis on the life of a young English teacher living abroad. For the duration of the summer I will be in San Francisco and Los Angeles. By September, I hope to be employed somewhere abroad. I will keep weekly updates about my employment search.
